Audition Tips
-
Breathe!
-
It sound silly but this one is easy to forget. Getting nervous about an audition is completely normal, it means that you care about doing your best!
-
-
Arrive early and prepared
-
A good rule of thumb is to arrive 15 minutes early. This ensures time for parking, checking in, and warming up if you need
-
-
Stay positive
-
Just because something didn't go exactly as planned doesn't mean that it hasn't showcased what the directors need to see, we are often our own harshest critics
-
-
Don't be afraid to take risks
-
Bold choices make you memorable!

Song Choices
-
Bring a piece that you feel truly aligns with you and your skills even if it doesn't directly correlate with a character from the show. Often, this is a more confident and true showcase of you as a performer
-
Practice performing your songs in the mirror or videotape and rewatch them to see what moments you want to keep or change
-
Check the "auditions" page for suggested song choices ands cuts for each show if you're having trouble finding a piece yourself. These will be prepared by an accompanist beforehand so there's no need for you to bring in sheet music or a prepared track
