About Us
Our Official Mission Statement
To give the community a space to learn and grow their theatre skills within an uplifting community by developing and collaborating alongside one another in order to cultivate confident, connected, and empowered artists.

The 602 Stage was founded by Phoenix-based Theatre artists with a deep passion for performance, story-telling, and community building. With almost two decades of experience on and off the stage, The 602 Stage was founded with actors in mind. We hope to be a place that nurtures local talent and builds a new kind of theatre space: one that centers actor growth, bold ideas, and heart.

We're driven by vision and love for the Valley's creative spirit, and committed to creating a space where stories rise and talent grows.

"The 602 Stage truly lives up to it's mission statement. [The director] has effortlessly created an environment full of collaboration, respect, kindness, and joy. The company's first production was so much fun to perform in, and I truly appreciate that no matter what curveball was thrown, [the director] was calm and flexible. This is the theater space that Phoenix needs and I can't wait to see it grow and thrive!"

A Message from our Founder
I founded The 602 Stage with the heart of the community in mind. When I moved here in 2022, I arrived with no friends, no family, and no support system. I was working three jobs just to afford a place to live. During this time, theatre, something that had shaped me since I was six years old, began slipping further and further out of reach. Eventually, it drifted so far from my life that I wasn’t thinking about it at all. Yet the loneliness remained. I still had no friends, no family, and no support, and I felt incredibly isolated in a brand new place. On top of that, I was in my early twenties, trying to figure out adulthood and who I wanted to become. I felt lost and didn’t recognize the person I was becoming in my day to day life.

In that season, I found my way back to church and made the intentional choice to build a relationship with God, one that, in hindsight, He had been trying to cultivate in me for a long time. Through that, I discovered that building and nurturing community wasn’t just something I enjoyed; it was something I felt truly called to do. So much of who I am, my time management skills, my organization, my leadership style, I owe to the youth theatre program I grew up in. Stepping back into a theatre reminded me of that foundation and gave me a sense of direction again. It felt like coming home.

Now, almost four years later, I’ve learned more than I ever expected. What stands out the most is this: theatre has the power to transform peoples lives. It creates spaces where individuals feel seen, supported, and connected. It brings people together who might otherwise feel alone, just like I once did. That belief is at the core of The 602 Stage, and it’s why I am committed to building a creative home where our community can grow, heal, and thrive together.
